Pickup in store

Enable local pickup so customers can buy online and collect their fresh beans, bakery items, or drinks directly at your café.

Overview

Caffenza includes native integration with Shopify Local Pickup. When enabled in your Shopify Admin, the product page automatically displays real-time pickup availability beneath the buy buttons, showing customers which café locations have stock ready for collection.

Enabling local pickup in Shopify

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
2. Scroll down to the Local pickup section.
3. Click on the location where you want to offer in-store pickup.
4. Check This location offers local pickup.
5. Under Expected pickup time, select when orders are typically ready (e.g., Usually ready in 1 hour or Usually ready in 2-4 hours).
6. Under Pickup instructions, add helpful notes for your customers (e.g., “Please present your order confirmation email at the main counter.”).
7. Click Save.

Stocking inventory for pickup

For a product or variant to show as available for store pickup:

• The product must have Track quantity enabled.
• Stock must be assigned to the specific location that offers local pickup.
• If an item is out of stock at a location, Caffenza automatically updates the status to reflect unavailable stock.

Pickup availability on the product page

When local pickup is enabled for your store:

• Single location: Shows the store name, readiness timeframe, and an in-stock checkmark directly on the product card.
• Multiple locations: Displays a “Check availability at other stores” link that opens a slide-out drawer listing all locations, opening hours, phone numbers, and stock status.
• Dynamic variant updates: When a customer selects a different coffee roast, grind size, or bag weight, the pickup drawer immediately updates to show availability for that specific variant.
